We are a family of five, living and serving in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia under the covering of Adventures in Missions.
Elizabeth has served with Adventures in Missions and lived in Philadelphia since 2000, fulfilling her mother's prediction that she would grow up to be either a missionary or a criminal. In 2006 she married Frank who was, as it turns out, a criminal-turned-missionary. They have an amazing God-written love story that includes Frank being on the set of Rocky VI and encountering Sylvester Stallone on the same day that he proclaimed to Elizabeth, "I think you're my wife." She agreed that he was right, and a few months later God allowed them to seal their engagement with the six gifted diamonds which were safely tucked away rather than on Elizabeth's finger when they were held up at gunpoint three days later. Dear friends helped them put together a fabulous wedding and sent them on balcony cruise honeymoon no more than a year from when they first met.
Now, ten years and many crazy God stories later, they are the proud parents of three kids - Selah (7), Callum (5) and Clementine (3). Becoming a family radically transformed their relationships within their community. While they always had the affection and attention of their neighborhood kids, they found that becoming parents opened up doors of communication and relationship with the parents in their community. Their ministry has come to focus on building a community of Christ-centered homes and families in their neighborhood. They meet practical, emotional and spiritual needs of folks struggling with addiction, elderly neighbors, single moms, wayward teens, even the put-together employed folks who are beginning to move into their neighborhood. As a family they host Adventures in Missions Family Mission Trips.
Frank is uniquely gifted in working with men struggling with addiction. Elizabeth is a bona-fide "birth junkie" and is so thankful for the support of her family that allows her to be a birth doula and childbirth educator. Selah, Callum & Clementine are total Philly kids, and really just some of the coolest human beings you could ever meet. We love our home, and are so thankful that God has given us the privilege of living and serving here.
